Some people just have a way of revealing themselves to you through the written word, and wow, THAT'S why I read, and THAT'S why I adore this book.If I weren't already fully bonded with the author, her little snippets and take on life are like unrelated little emails from someone I know and like. There's an honesty and a quirkyness that comes through in her writing. She also is just someone who obviously has a personal commitment to being a force of kindness and strength on the planet, and that, too, makes for someone I like to listen to, whose life I naturally want to care about. So I spend the length of the book caring about whether she gets enough good sleep on a cross-country flight, caring about the new appliance recently bought at Home Depot, and definitely caring about her work, her health and her relationship through all the crazy rollercoasters those areas of life wind up being (for her and everyone else). So, I pretty much will read anything this woman writes. Who wouldn't! Score one for the Canadians.
