Like the title of this album, Phil Tagliere's songs are mellow, but stark. Most songs are comprised of an acoustic guitar, but there are piano and cello sprinkled throughout the album. Three great songs are at the center of this disc. 'AM', an homage to getting lost in the radio, 'Almost Perfect', and 'There's A House'. The album was produced by Tom Rothrock who's done work for Beck and Elliott Smith among others. It's great music to wind down the day to, and reflect. Tagliere sings with hushed emotion, drawing the listener in to his songs of loss, regret, and loneliness. It's a solid debut, proving there's more musical talent in the Tagliere faily besides brother Steve (Gingersol).
