My chihuahua had a problem inhaling his food in a matter of seconds. Shortly after eating he would vomit because he ate too quickly. This slow feeder pet bowl really helped, it does exactly as advertised and slows him down. It now takes him about 10 minutes to eat and we’ve had no more vomiting episodes. This product seems well made and sturdy. This is a sturdy bowl with a nice rubber rim on it to keep it from slipping on slick floors. However it doesn't hold much food and my dog always seemed hungry afterwards. I only used mine twice. I just went back to the 'ol rock ? in the bowl'......much cheaper!! Lol Still would be great for someone with a tiny dog, though.I bought this because This type of bowl was recommended by the dog whisperer on His show. I chose small because I give my large dog 1 cup of food several times a day and it said it was for 1 cup of food. His muzzle was too large to get the food out. So base the size for the size of dog, not the amount of food you put I it.After trying four times in 2 days, my dog would just look at his food and cry. I felt so bad for him, I gave up and returned the dish. My vet said not to worry about him wolfing his food down. The dish is well made, heavy enough with rubber around the bottom to keep from sliding around, but there is no "suction" anything. I really wish my dog would have figured the bowl out, but it was heartbreaking to see him sit at the bowl and whimper. Its a better, nicer bowl than others I looked at. Maybe a smaller size might have been a better selection, but its been returned so...I have 2 of these. They work perfectly to help my Yorkie & miniature poodle not to gobble their food so fast. These bowls are nice. Slows down the pup, looks good. Cleans easy.Helped one of our 2 dogs to slow down from eating her food and our other dogs food.I was skeptical that this type of bowl would actually work as my little girl lives to eat but it has. She went from eating in about 30 seconds to aprox. 12 to 14 minutes. I thought this might help keep her full longer & it really hasn't she is still begs for more food but eating slower has to be healthier than not.
