Finally, it was so worth the wait, now I'm ready for Slow Burn #9. This had so many funny moments, but then it filled in places that we wanted to know about. I am so glad the story will go on. But if other Bobby Adair fans are like me, would love for more than just #9, Zed & Murphy could do so much more, like Bobby stated in the beginning, Texas is pretty big, so many places to hid and so much that could happen, and that is just in Texas, Zed wonders what happens in the colder Northern States to the "Whites" in the winter. I live in Wisconsin, it seems like it will be colder here than last year (2 nights ago, was down in the low 30's a little chilly). They could visit, I for one would welcome them, if I knew about the different "whites", but I hope as I believe like other fans of his think when reading his books, if this happened her to me, I would want to live thru it all, & start over & hope I would do good like "Grace & Jazz" with the lesser minded Slow Burns, as in Book #7. So sorry, as I went off and put in some of my thoughts, as I believe other fans of Bobby Adaire probably think the same where they live, think of "what if???" So for everyone out there, this is one Series to read. I received this book the moment it came out as #8 was on my Bobby Adair's mailing list. I finished it in about 4 hours, give or take. I'm the one that loves to read. Since I wanted to make sure I had all in order, my plan was to read the 1st 2 - 3 Chapters and then read the last 3 Chapters of each book, then start on this one. Well that is so not how it went. It started that way with Book 1, but once Book 2 was started in just kept going, so to all out there who may not want to start this series, I read every Book over again starting with Book 2 as they were so good, I decided just to reread each Book, which I did. Then this early AM I started Book 8 and finished it. It was so worth it, as i still laughed at the silly parts with Zed and Murphy and cried at the losses, that still hurt, Russell especially, and when his demise was coming and knowing what was going to happen to him, it was still so hard to read. I guess I hoped it would have changed and he lived. His part in the story was so crucial, as it still showed that some of the Slow Burns still had meaning, even though he was what was called "challenged". Plus Steph and her roll, all that happened in the Mansion in the beginning of the series and then on the Island. Even hating "Freitag" and then all she does. So for anyone thinking of this series, I so highly recommend it. Then for alll waiting on this Book in the Series. I hope you all feel as I do, that it was so worth the wait, and whether everyone remembered and just picked up Book 8 or decided to start them all over, this is one Series that is worth keeping and reading again in the future. I will definitely do that, before #9 even comes out, then read again, as #9 will probably take some time before it's even due. Bobby Adair has such great Books, and I've gone thru them all and have them on my "kindle" in a file of "Books I've read". This Book is kept in that collection. So I did just bring them out and started again. As I made another file for that collection named: "Books To Read More Than Once". So not only is this Slow Burn Series is in there. So is the " Humanity Series, Bobby Adair co-wrote with T. W. Piperbrook. That whole series is in the read again as now I'm waiting on "The Ebola Series, Book 3. By Bobby Adair, as i read that he was working on that next for the next release. So for everyone out there THIS IS ONE SERIES THAT TO ME IS A MUST READ, ALL SHOULD READ THIS SERIES. LOVE IT!!!!!!!, ESPECIALLY IF YOU LOVE ZOMBIE STORIES. Bobby Adair this Book in the series was awesome, I so can't chose which is the best, the keep getting better.
