After opening the package I followed directions to develop a full charge: 10 minutes of continuous cranking at 150-180 revolutions per minute. It's harder to do than it sounds. The alarm and light work, but aren't impressive at all. The radio and weather band on mine never worked at all. All I'm able to hear is a slight hiss if I have the volume all the way up and the speaker right by my ear. I live less than 10 miles outside of Philadelphia, so there are plenty of stations with ample signal strength such that I should have been able to pick up something. After pushing the scan button numerous times, resetting, trying different antenna orientations and radio locations, toggling between FM and WB, etc., I conclude my item is defective. If you're still considering buying this Chinese junk, know that it's only about 5" x 3" x 1.5" in size, and the plastic construction won't give you much confidence that it will last very long. The cell phone adapter cable is worthless unless you still own a cell phone from the early 90's. I recommend spending more on a better product. I bought this from LilGift, LLC, and they ignored both emails I sent to them; I recommend avoiding them as well.
