Ever since I got my puppy at 4.5 months she would just wolf down her food incredibly fast everytime I poured it into the bowl. She was getting enough, at a healthy weight and didn't seem overly hungry ever when she wasn't eating but at breakfast and dinner time she would eat her approx 1.5 - 2 cups of food in 30 - 40 seconds. This went on for a few months and I tried various things to slow her down but nothing really seemed to work. It was becomming a problem because she would often drink water after eating so fast and then vomit within a few a minutes....not a good cycle. I was going to get one of the more complex bowls but was hesitant because I really liked my stainless steel bowls (9") and the stand that I used to raise them off the ground a bit. I couldn't find a slow feeder bowl that would fit my stand and then stumbled upon the Gobble Stopper.After reading the reviews and seeing the low price I thought it was definitely worth a shot. Very happy I tried this and I have been using it since the day it arrived. It doesn't make her meals last hours or anything like that but I timed her the other day and it took her almost 3.5 minutes to finish her meal. I also don't think I have seen her vomit after eating even once in the 6-7 weeks we have used this product. Seems easy to clean and no problem with it popping off, it is very secure with a large suction cup. Just make sure you clean your bowl thoroughly first before applying the initial time and it should stick fine. It doesn't make it hard for her to get her food but just forces her to slow down a little bit and not gulp it all down at once. I would suggest this product to anyone who is having a problem with their dog eating too fast.I went with the larger sized bone and I think it would be good for a 9" bowl or smaller but I think it you started getting into bowls larger than 10" it wouldn't be much of a deterrent and your dog could still eat quickly. Just pick the right size for your bowl though and hopefully you will have as much luck with this as I have. Note: the bowl isn't included, just the insert and then you use it with your own stainless steel bowl.
