I have been listening to this DVD almost daily for the past couple of months. Most of the time it's on repeat. The sound quality and music quality are excellent; it's just like a CD but twice as long and, for most songs, even better than a studio recording (and I'm not one who would usually say that).David Gray is a decent performer, he's good with a guitar or a piano, and he's a good singer. Good but not extraordinary. But somehow, despite unremarkable technical skill, he is an extraordinary musician. My current theory is that it has to do with the songwriting. The sounds don't just fit together; they combine to produce remarkable depth. With most musicians, their songs get dull after 5 or 10 listens, but with David Gray, you don't even start to notice his songs' depth and greatness until the 30th or 40th listen. They have a subtle complexity that make them increasingly interesting for an unusually long time.I have one small complaint about the DVD: The visual part of it was a bit of a let-down. David Gray and his band members mostly look like they're just out there performing a routine, emotionless task, which is surprising (if not disturbing) considering the emotional depth of the sound. My advice: Get this DVD, but don't watch it. Just listen to it.
