This is a fantastic deal, especially for the price. The settings are great, although I recommend just using "warm" if you're slow cooking overnight and it tends to run a little hot. The auto-warm feature is great. The only thing I wish it did was shut off entirely on its own without unplugging it, but that's a minor inconvenience for something reliable each time it cooksThe first time you use it, make sure you babysit it so you get used to the temperature settings. It does cook faster than you think. I burned cheese soup the first time I used it, but I was able to adjust after that. For instance, instead of cooking something at low for 6 hours, I do low for 1-2 hours and then let the warmer take over the remainder of the time so that it's ready when I get home. If I'm slow cooking meat, I only use "warm" after searing the meat. The only things I use the high setting for are soups that need to boil first and then simmer or stock cooking, otherwise, I cook everything on low or warm and it turns out perfectly. The outer shell gets extremely hot as well, which isn't an issue for me, but it could be a potential hazard.I was worried about the lid since it doesn't latch, but it fits securely and keeps the moisture in, so nothing gets dried out while cooking. I didn't experience any rattling or heat escaping from the lid like other reviewers did.The smaller warmer is perfect for cheesy dip or artichoke spinach dip and it's serve-able at the table. We don't use it as much, but it's very handy for parties and holidays, so totally worth it as a freebie. We needed a new Crock-pot, and there are a plethora of them out there. After looking at many options, I decided on this one and it works great for our needs. Not too large and not too small, it works for our cooking style and the count-down timer is a great feature that works well. We do meals during the day, but what is really nice is to set the timer for overnight while we make beef or chicken stock and let it simmer for a very long time without worry or attention. The only small drawback to this package is the little "dipper". It heats well for gravies and sauces, but because the "crock" inside is NOT removable, it is difficult to clean because, with the electrical element, it cannot be submerged in water. It is a pain, but it is not the main point of this review. We like the Crock-pot and the way it performs.Got this from Amazon around black Friday/cyber Monday for $29.99.I'd never used a slow cooker before I bought this. I've been using it for freezer meals. I just take my stuff straight from the freezer in the morning, and dump it all in, set it for 6-8 hours depending on the food and it does everything else for me! Truly an amazing product. I use mine with liners to make clean up faster and because I'm lazy. I have NO COMPLAINTS about this slow cooker and I'm extremely happy I bought it.I have had no problems with the warm setting boiling my food. Although it may seem that way at first when it first switches over from the cook temp to the warming temp. My food is not dry or tough to chew. No lid rattling (and I don't pull my liners up over the sides either, I semi loosely twist the liner together at the top like a hair bun and put the lid on. This way the liner is not touching the lid at all or the outside). The cord length is just fine with me and I actually haven't even taken the twist tie off the cord either because its the perfect length for the section of counter top that I'm using it on as it is.I initially bought the Reynolds liners to use with this but they are expensive considering how often I use my crock pot. And after reading the reviews on these liners (and the price! :D ) I decided to try them out. They are WONDERFUL as well. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000KERJ4Q?redirect=true&ref_=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_21I bought this to replace a crock-pot I have had for the last 6 years -the digital display isstarting to go and I didn't want to be caught without one day.So far to "test" it I used it to make a " refried beans without the refry" recipe that I have made for years and the cooker performed flawlessly. I did notice a little more liquid evaporated than usual but other than thatthere was no difference in the time it took to cook.Part of the reason I chose this crock-pot was ease of use.I really just wanted as little fuss as possible, I didn't want to have to figure outhow to program the thing but I DID want to be able to set the time up and downin 30 minute increments. So this fits that requirement for me perfectly. The display is great , easy to see.The outsides do get hot which I was aware of before I ordered - I keep mine upup and back on a counter so that the little ones aren't able to touch it anyways sonot really a big deal. The little crock included is ok..I used it to keep some nacho cheese dip warm for a smallparty last week however the thing is a pain to clean since the liner doesn't come out.I probably won't use it again.Overall happy with this crock-pot :) It gets the job done.Has great timer options, nice size for large amounts, overall easy to use.
