I'm having a problem with getting the antenna to get back into the tucked position. I'll have to find my tiny screwdriver and see if loosening the screw fixes the problem. Can't comment yet on the battery life because I just got it. It sounds very good, though, and is generally very good value. The radio works fine, but their 99% off coupon they include for the next radio purchase just ended. Would you know I’d be a day late. When a hurricane hits, you better be ready to be without power or internet for several days if not weeks. This little radio was a lifesaver when there was no communication - just tuned in to FM or AM and be informed. Can pick up miles of stations - loud and clear with a huge reception. Recommended! I keep it next to me even when there is internet and while working just to listen to whatever. We bought 2 for my wife's mother who is in her 70's. They are suprising good. The radio picks up more stations than my car or my home receiver. It's also pretty loud and clear considering they are basic radios. It's a small cute little radio that works well slips in a small pocket I bought it for one of my patients because they like to listen to it while they're wheeling in a wheelchair up and down the hall it fits right in their shirt pocket and haven't had to change the battery in over 3 weeksDefinitely well worth the price. Flawless performance over the 1st 6 months of use. My mother is 94 years old, wheel chair bound, very hard of hearing, and essentially blind from macular degeneration. She lives in an assisted living facility where multiple times a day she will wheel herself outside to a shady courtyard - after breakfast, lunch, and dinner - and have a cigarette. Yes - 94 and still smoking! Her lament is that in the post Covid world the assisted living facility has told her that the courtyard is the only place on the facility grounds that she may go for a cigarettte - which also happens to be very isolated and lonely. She misses the occasional interaction with friendly passers-by, the shadowy sights and sounds of cars coming and going and in general anything in her environment to break the quiet boredom of isolation. This is where the transistor radio comes into the picture. She said being all alone in that courtyard might not be so bad if she at least had a radio to listen to. The transistor radio from Vondior fits nicely in her purse. I equipped it with a set of ear buds/ear phones which are always jacked in and just wound around the radio when not in use. I tuned in her favorite talk radio station and then duck taped the tuning dial in place so it wouldn’t get bumped out of tune inadvertently. She never has to extend the antenna (excellent reception) so it stays in its slot along side the radio. All she has to do is unwind the earbuds and insert them in her ears and slowly manipulate the thumb dialed on-off/volume control. There is a crisp click when it’s turned on followed by a smooth increase in volume. Using the earbuds permits a lower volume level and spares the batteries. They have a only been replaced once in the last 6 months because she didn't turn it off completely after using it one day. I cannot begin to describe the absolute joy and sense of empowerment this has bought my mom. I’ve lost count of the number of times she has thanked me for the effect it has had on her quality of life! I have ordered a 2nd transistor radio identical to the first which we will dial into her favorite Country&Western music station and again duck tape it in place so it stays in tune. She will also keep in her purse along side the 1st one. The 2nd radio will be a different color - and she can then choose to listen to talk radio or music on any given day! She’s so excited about the 2nd one! That such a simple gift can have so incredible an impact on a persons life is itself incredible and humbling.Only had it for a few weeks now but it can be pretty loud and still sound clear. Pretty intuitive too to use. I was happy with it.In general this was a nice radio but suffered in the a.m. reception somewhat. Worse than that however was the on off/volume control was very noisy to the point I had to return it. I purchased another small radio that seemed to be better in both regards. You turn it on with the volume wheel and after it turned on the volume level is too high and there is basically no way to reduce the volume, you can only make it even louder. IDK, maybe it's only my item was with this weird behaviour, returned. Channel search is not digital, so not really precise. There are better options on the market.Tuner is clear and can be adjusted precisely. Case is plastic and will need care not to drop. My only negative is a matter of personal preference. The volume comes on at a louder initial level than I would prefer. This makes it a little too high for me to listen with earbuds, at night for example. For camping, or beach this should do great. The sound quality is excellent. This little radio is not only affordable, fits in small areas ( bathroom, kitchen ect) without taking up too much space but sounds fantastic. I plan on getting another for camping. Sound is excellent and with the antenna, you receive several channels.I bought this little radio to use in the bathroomWhile i get ready for work. Want to hear traffic updates, weather etc. The volume doesn’t go LOW enough. Lol It goes from crackling air to loud. Don’t get me wrong, I use it everyday but sometimes I sacrifice quality for lower volume. I am happy with quality, shipping and price! Would buy again.
