St. Helena was founded by Patrick Teahan in Boston, MA, in 2003. In 2006 they released their first EP, Happy--the irony being, of course, that the title track is anything but a happy song. The EP received generous radio play and widespread praise. In the words of one reviewer, "Happy is not a product of exile from the broader scope of life, but a message in a bottle from an outpost of observation--a message worth unraveling." Like the real St. Helena, the Patron Saint of Lost Causes, the music pulls from both waste and hope. The band shines a light onto your forgotten toys, your old wins and losses, and reminds you that you still have a chance. We've all got to dig to find some glory. The current line-up has Teahan on vocals and guitar, with Chaetan Newell joining him on guitar, and Keith Wales on bass.
