I have a 7 month old cava-poo who is such a piggy when he eats. I wanted to slow down his eating to stop him from not only devouring his food in 5 seconds, but to stop the ensuing burping! Day one, he was afraid of the bowl, but hunger soon took over. I actually thought this wasn't going to work however he quickly figured it out. This bowl is definitely smaller, it holds roughly 3/4 cup of dry food so I don't think it would work for a dog who gets more food than this. It's also a thinner plastic, so I don't know about durability if you have a chewer. I pick the bowl up immediately after he's finished so there's no chance for him to chew. Overall it does what I wanted and the price was right, but there are probably better options out there.
