I am finding it hard to believe that I'm the first soul to review this. I'm not even sure what to write, other than listing a slew of other guitarists that Eric Skye has so obviously absorbed.Like jazz? You'll love this. Like guitar? You'll love this. Like funk? You'll love this.Like "roots music"? You'll love this..Hell, if you like ANY music, it's a relatively safe bet you'll like this.Skye and his incredibly sympathetic and extremely talented cohorts have created somewhat of an instant classic with this release. I will readily admit a weakness for the three piece format, and these guys carry that torch in proud Olympic fashion. I don't know what else to say other than that this is a very well executed recording. If you're one of those people that has a copy of "Virtuoso" (by Joe Pass), any Tony Rice recording, Reinhardt, Eddie Lang, etc, always in short reach, then my god man, put this sick disc in the stack. Eric Skye and his mates deserve a Nobel prize for this record. It sounds like the hippie jammers and the jazz peeps met for a summit and decided on what was acceptable. The result is a very Portland, very soulful, very hip mother%#*&ing disc. I love the whole Eric Skye thing, and I think you will too.
