This is a review of the vinyl release.Theater A, Slow Flow. Exactly as it sounds, slow, enchanting, and evocative. The joy of this side is the journey my mind goes on as I listen. Sometimes to different places, sometimes familiar. If you're looking for something to study to, this side gets the gears turning! The vocal work is very beautiful and enhances the musical ambrosia of this album. I'll not get too much into the specific tracks here, as the whole of this side is greater than the sum of its parts.Theater B, Dancer. Wake up, sleepy head! This side moves like a brisk breeze! The vocal work on this side is ALSO incredible. I love the contrast of this side from Slow Flow. From the get-go, WoaWoa hits you with a wash of warmth and zest. That's just a warm-up for Scarabaeus though, one of the thickest jams on this album. The Golden Bird is a steady bop with a mystical undertone from the synth. It sets the stage for the romantic Uthando. The vocal work in Uthando shines the greatest on this album. It's so passionate yet gentle. Up and Out, closing out the album, is a powerhouse jam. The synth undertone makes the drop so heavy and so elegant at the same time. Many thanks to Andreas Vollenweider and Friends for continuing to create such beautiful music for all these years. Also, the dogs love this album and will park themselves in front of the record player, then leave when it's over. I would post a picture, but the webpage crashes when I try to. This is probably my album of the year for 2022!
